Stepney Star – Emily Jardine
21st July 2021
Welcome to this next update on our Stepney Stars – it’s a chance for our young people to shine and tell you a bit about their experience at Stepney and what they’ve gone on to do afterwards. This month, I’d like to introduce Emily Jardine – I’ll hand over to her to tell you her story.
Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I started riding at Stepney Bank Stables from Halloween 2007.
Whilst I was at Stepney I gained so many skills including resilience, social skills and confidence not only with horses but with volunteers and customers.
Once I left Stepney I went to sixth form where I was studying graphics, photography and media. I then had a total change in what I wanted as a career and applied to be cabin crew for British Airways, where I have worked for nearly 3 years.
My biggest supporter in life so far has to be my mam, (Jane) which many people know her from working in the office for so many years while I was riding.
In the next twelve months I’m most looking forward to getting back to work, and getting back into riding too! I still love riding and try to do it when I can. If I could give my 10 year old self any advice it would to live in the moment and enjoy everything whilst it lasts.
Thanks, Emily, for sharing that with us. We love hearing about your adventures in the sky, so make sure you and your Mum keep in touch! Wishing you well for wherever your next journey takes you!
